Bela Moça & Vintage Florals

I wouldn’t be a blogger if I didn’t go on holiday and blog about what I wore while I was away now would I? So here goes!

Last week, myself and 2 friends went to Albufeira, Algarve in Portugal for my best friend’s 25th birthday celebrations! Watch the vlog on my YouTube channel here. I packed super light because we only went away for 5 days but I was sure to pack my “new” vintage dress that I got at yet another vintage kilo sale.

In case you don’t know by now, I am a huge fan of second hand clothes. You cannot truly call yourself “frugal” if you do not thrift. This dress was perfect for a casual dinner on the Old town strip in Albufeira and a night of cocktails and dancing in our newly favourite nightclub called Piccadilly in Old town as well. Everyone is super casual and laid back. You don’t find anyone wearing high heels dressed to the nines. Its all daisy duke shorts, crop tops, summer dresses and a cute pair of sandals. So if you ever go out on the Old Town strip, now you know.

At this point I usually give you specs about the dress but guys, I have nothing. It literally has no tags. My initial guess was that this dress is from the 1990s but when I wore it from the first time, the cinched in waist, the highly emphasised bust and cap sleeves screamed 1960s. It’s a size 42. That’s all I got for you lol. But I guess this post is to really just encourage you all to not look down on second hand clothes. Charity shops, vintage kilo sales etc., can have some really good gems. Just make sure you wash the clothes thoroughly before you wear them. I bought the sandals in South Africa so again, I have no link for you guys. But hopefully you are inspired.

Look out for my next blog post featuring a swimsuit lookbook. Subscribe to my YouTube channel too if you haven’t already.

Thank you for reading all the way down to the bottom.

Peace and Love

  2. This dress is really amazing. I love the style and the floral print. I have to say, my favourite part is the button up/down effect. You’re right, you can always get a good and unique item in thrift shops.
