Happy new year beautiful people! Typing on my keyboard feels so foreign to me now after taking a break from blogging for nearly 2 months. I always promised myself that I will not be one of those bloggers that abandons their blog and then returns with an abundance of excuses. But in the words of Kevin Hart, “let me explain”…*inhales* I got engaged, I am planning a wedding, I have been working full time and looking for a new job, I got a new job and I started my YouTube channel…*exhales*. Okay so now that’s out of the way, let’s get into my very first post of 2017!
We all know by now that I am all about looking good on a budget! It’s not just about waiting for good sales and bargain hunting. Let’s talk about thrifting, 2nd hand clothes, vintage and charity shops. I recently went to a vintage kilo-sale in Birmingham, check out their event page here for more dates in the UK. It was £15/kilo which meant and I got 6 dresses for just under £30. All of them were vintage gems and this purple number is one of my faves. This purple bell tie long sleeve dress is from the 1970’s. It reminds me of ‘That 70’s Show’. Dresses like this are perfect for almost anything with the right accessories. It’s a tie waist which means it cinches in your waist and emphasises that hour-glass figure of yours!
Seeing that we are at the cusp of spring, long sleeved dresses are ideal for transitioning from winter into spring. Add some tights like I did and this keeps your legs somewhat warm. Ankle boots are a great alternative to heels or ballet pumps because you can wear warm sock to keep your feet warm. The heels booties are from Primark and they were on sale for just €9 in January sales. They are super funky and glossy but since Primark don’t have an online store, click here to get an alternative pair from New Look currently on sale for €20.
Another great piece to add to your wardrobe to help transition into Spring is a faux fur gilet. Mine is from Dunnes Stores and you can find these everywhere. They are super pricey but you can look out for student discounts and sales for a good bargain.
Signing up to newsletters always gets you at least 10% discount on most online stores. If you don’t want to wait for sales, sign up to your favourite online store and make use of that discount code!
Don’t say I never told you.
Thank you for reading all the way down to the bottom,
Peace and Love.
