This past weekend, I went on a mini sun holiday to Palma de Mallorca, Spain and I figured why not share some of the swimsuits that I wore during my time there. The weather was amazing and there wasn’t a single cloud in sight for the 4 days that I spent there. I got progressively more tan as the days went on and I absolutely love it! I didn’t bother wearing make up at all the whole time because it was so hot, my face would probably just slide off. Anyway, let’s get into what you clicked into this blog post for.
I recently did a poll in my office with some of the girls and asked them what type of swimwear they would reach for if they were out holiday shopping. 60% of them said a one-piece which I found quite surprising because I thought only “plus-size” women were more inclined to cover up simply because that’s what society tells us to do. Even though I love how I look, I am not yet 100% comfortable in a two-piece and so when I was looking for swimsuits, I still chose one-pieces but I made sure I avoided picking plain and dark colours and at least have them be fun and colourful.
The Floral Halter
This black and floral halter-neck swimsuit was on sale in Dunnes Stores for only €10 during their recent summer sale. I got it in a size 18 even though I am a size 16 but I find that with pull-up swimsuits, going a size up makes for a more comfortable fit and it is not too tight around my hips and bum.
The High-Neck Print
This geometric print swimsuit is also from Dunnes Stores and as always, I got in on sale for €14. I love the fact that it zips up the front and you can actually open up the zip as far down or as far up as you would like depending on how much skin you want to show. It is also an illusion print which gives that cinched-in waist look. I got this in a size 18 as well for a more comfortable fit.
The Strapless Sweetheart
Going strapless when it comes to swimwear is great for tan lines but risky for diving into water (LOL!) so to avoid any malfunctions, always make sure the swimsuit is a nice and snug fit. This floral one-piece from Oh My Love London is just that and also has some boning around the perimeter of the sweetheart neckline so it stayed on even when I was swimming and I didn’t have to worry about accidentally exposing myself. It was €7 in TkMaxx on sale.
So that’s it for my swimwear look book from my recent Mallorca trip! They are all sold out unfortunately but hopefully you got some inspiration and swimsuit ideas for your next holiday or maybe just a trip to the beach 🙂 Feel free to comment below and let me know which one is your favourite.
Peace and Love.
