Ivory Chic

Another Saturday, another wedding! I know what you might be thinking…why in the world would I wear white to a wedding?! Well this outfit was worn to a traditional Yoruba wedding where the bride and groom requested their guests to wear white whilst they donned their beautiful golds and blues.

I am getting more and more versed with online shopping and for this occassion, I re-visited iClothing because they gave me a 15% discount for reviewing my previous purchase from them  and you can read that blog here. The dress is currently on sale for just under €32 and I only got it for a little over €27 which was a bargain because you get great quality without the higher price tag!

On their website, this gorgeous mesh dress is the Sophie Cut Out Dress in Ivory and it can be found here. Although the website describes it as Ivory, to me it looks white in real life and also photographs white. So these images are true to colour.

The dress is fitted and partly lined but the mesh overlay covers you up nicely and the three-quarter length sleeve are great if you don’t want to expose your arms. My dress is a size 16 UK/IRL and it is not stretchy but it is definitely true to size so be mindful of that when making your purchase. It has a gold exposed zip at the back and that’s why I paired it with gold and white accessories. The shoes are from New Look and you can get them here for only €14.99! The clutch is also from New Look but it is currently sold out. The necklace is from Primark/Penneys and I stole it off my mother’s jewellery collection but I think it was €8.

Even though I wore this to a wedding, my advice would be to wear it on a fancy date night with bae or just to a party because unless the bride gave you the go ahead, never ever wear white to a wedding!

Don’t say I never told you!

Peace and Love.
