It all started with a t-shirt that I saw on boohoo whilst browsing online in work (don’t tell my boss!). I am not a fan of graphic t-shirts but when I saw this one I just had to have it. Beauty. Brains. Booty!
When it comes to online shopping, I am not a massive fan because being a plus size girl I feel like I would rather purchase something that I have tried on first to make sure it fits just right. Of course, you can always return clothes that you bought online but who needs the hassle, right? No? Just me then? Cool. I went ahead and bought the t-shirt from their plus size line with every confidence because Boohoo Plus always has great reviews.
Anyway whilst I waited for the super fast delivery (FYI, the t-shirt fit perfectly) I decided to find some other pieces to complete a look that I had in mind. I found this super cute leather-look flippy mini-skirt in River Island (sidenote: did you know that they recently came out with a plus size line?).
Seeing as it is Irish spring and the weather is still a bit chilly, I added some tights from the ever reliable Primark (am I the only one that goes into Penneys for just a pair of tights and end up spending an hour in there and come out with bags of impulse purchases?).
Tights are great if you ever feel like you don’t want to show your bare legs but you also don’t always want to wear trousers and such. I am wearing 5 denier tights which are a bit sheer but of course you can opt for some that are more opaque. Penneys has sizes up to an XL. You just have to be super careful putting these on otherwise you will end up with a ladder in them like I did in mine. Oh well. It’s worth a mention that the chunky ankle boots are also from Penneys.
In keeping with the leather-look, I wore this faux leather jacket I purchased from TkMaxx. It has leopard print lining and anyone that knows me, knows I have the smallest obsession with leopard print but I try to just add little touches of it in my outfits because full on leopard would be overwhelming, lol.
So here is the complete look along with a little backpack from Dunnes Stores. I had so much fun shooting this look and I have to give major props to my photographer for having such a great eye and finding this funky location. Find him on Facebook here.
If like me, you are weary of shopping online, start with pieces like t-shirts especially if the material is stretchy because you can at least be guaranteed a comfortable fit. Thank you for checking out this week’s blog.
Peace and Love.
